ten Backset.

I agree that we should not do this

for him. But no doubt we have always sent acpies of

+ ΠΟΥ

these reports to, at any rate, the L.G.B.

the Min. of Health, and that Dept. has probably

kept them in some sort of collected form,

whereas we only have the telegrams in our

ordinary series of corresp. and it will be

very laborious to search, unless the Registers

contain the figures and even then it will be

laborious). Moreover we shall have to get

bound volumes from the R.O. for the first six years

or so of the period.

Will you therefore please re-consider

the reply. I should be inclined to ask M. of H. if

they have kept the records in a collected form.

During the preparation of a Report to the Public Health Department, Cairo, on the Plague conditions of Egypt, giving the results of an investigation car ied out during two years before the War, I have found it necer ary to study the prevalence of Plague in Fartem localities, and ac very desirous of obtaining the human Plague statist- ios for hongkong since the outbreak in 1834. None of the Hongkong Plague Reports available to me give the inform ation in a form suitable for the analytic I propore to make.

I beg, therefore, to re-uest that you will be so ge d as to supply re with the numbers of Plague case and Plague deaths for fortnightly or monthly periods.( prefera N the forer ar anged in calendar months) for the whole of each year since 1994.

It would, further, be very useful to me if in adition the type of humar. rlague bubcr.ic, scepticaenio, and prinary pneumonio were show..
